The Shape of Me and Other Stuff

This Bright and Early Book by Dr. Seuss looks at the shapes found all around, from a bug, a balloon and a bed to a bike, and observes that no two are quite alike. Drawn in silhouette, the pictures move from ordinary objects to shapes only Seuss could imagine, including a creature called a Blogg. The short rhyming text, built with few and easy words, suits children just starting to recognize words and sound out letters.

Richard Branson: “I have been reading a lot of books by one of my favourite authors, Dr Seuss... There is more wisdom and humour in his cartoons and rhymes than in any number of lengthy and highbrow books.”
