The Mating Season
Categories: Humor & Entertainment, Literature & Fiction
Bertie Wooster arrives at Deverill Hall, in the village of King's Deverill, posing as his friend Gussie Fink-Nottle in The Mating Season (1949), while the real Gussie poses as Bertie. The house is ruled by five formidable aunts. Bertie and Jeeves have to sort out several engagements in the middle of a village concert, with Bertie anxious above all to keep Gussie engaged to Madeline Bassett, so that he won't have to marry her himself.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
