The Last of the President's Men (2015) is a book by Bob Woodward about Alexander Butterfield, the Nixon aide who revealed the existence of the secret White House taping system to Senate investigators in 1973. Butterfield was the book's major source, and he had kept an extensive collection of records when he left the White House, including documents that form part of its basis. Drawing on interviews and those papers, Woodward reconstructs life inside Nixon's inner circle and adds detail about the president's character in private.
