The Four Million
By O. Henry
Categories: Literature & Fiction
The Four Million gathers twenty-five short stories by O. Henry, first published in 1906, many of them set in New York City. The title answers Ward McAllister's claim that only four hundred people in the city were worth knowing; O. Henry suggests that every one of its four million residents deserves notice. The collection includes some of his best-known work, among them 'The Gift of the Magi' and 'The Cop and the Anthem,' along with 'The Furnished Room' and 'After Twenty Years.'

- Seth Godin: “Ever since O. Henry wrote about the Magi, it’s been pretty clear that gifts aren’t about the stuff as much as they are the intent.”
