Aunt Dahlia sends Bertie Wooster to steal back a silver cow creamer in The Code of the Woosters (1938). The collector Watkyn Bassett acquired it from under her husband's nose, and Bertie's errand lands him at Bassett's country house, Totleigh Towers. There he is surrounded by Madeline Bassett, Gussie Fink-Nottle, the would-be dictator Roderick Spode and the mischievous Stiffy Byng, and only Jeeves can get him out of trouble.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
