The Butter Battle Book
By Dr. Seuss
Categories: Children's Books
Dr. Seuss's 1984 rhyming picture book is a parable about the nuclear arms race. A grandfather tells his grandson about the Yooks, who eat their bread with the butter side up, and the Zooks across the Wall, who eat it butter side down. The quarrel escalates as each side builds a more fearsome weapon than the last, from the Tough-Tufted Prickly Snick-Berry Switch to the tiny but terrifying Bitsy Big-Boy Boomeroo, and the book leaves its question unresolved.

- Richard Branson: “I have been reading a lot of books by one of my favourite authors, Dr Seuss... There is more wisdom and humour in his cartoons and rhymes than in any number of lengthy and highbrow books.”
