Spellsinger
Last updated October 31, 2026
Jon-Tom, a law student and would-be rock guitarist, is pulled out of Los Angeles into a world of talking animals by Clothahump, a turtle wizard searching for help against the invading Plated Folk. At first he takes it all for a dream. Playing songs from his rock repertoire on a local instrument called a duar, he finds his music can work magic, though rarely as intended. The first of Alan Dean Foster's Spellsinger fantasy novels.
