By Matt Ruff
Matt Ruff's satirical novel is set in a future Manhattan where a billionaire is building a towering new monument to his own ambition. Strange events, including a great white shark loose in the sewers, begin to pile up. An eco-saboteur in a pink submarine and a large cast of eccentrics are pulled into the story, which pokes fun at corporate power, technology and American politics in a fast, comic style.
