A company has quietly been exploiting Prism, a rich planet where even the smallest creatures are built of living crystal, and all contact with its survey team has been lost. To avoid attention, it sends one troubleshooter, Evan Orgell, to investigate. He trusts his protective suit until the planet's environment destroys it.
