Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!

Dr. Seuss's 1975 Beginner Book is a rhyming celebration of imagination. Its narrator encourages a young reader to think left and think right, think low and think high, and to picture whatever strange or wonderful thing comes to mind. The pages fill with invented things, from a puffy Guff to Kitty O'Sullivan Krauss's balloon swimming pool, along with questions such as how much water fifty-five elephants might drink. Simple words and bouncing rhythm suit children beginning to read on their own.
