A team of thieves plans to rob a luxury hotel on Spain's Costa Brava. Their leader relies on a computer to calculate the odds of every step in the plan. As the night of the robbery approaches, chance and human nature begin to interfere with even the best calculations. This was Michael Crichton's first novel; he published it in 1966 as John Lange.
