Midworld
Last updated October 31, 2026
Midworld, in Alan Dean Foster's novel, is a planet covered by a rainforest so tall that human tribes live high in it. Born, a hunter, lives in the Home Tree, is bonded to a furcot and treats every plant around him with care. When an Earth company arrives to exploit the forest and two of its workers crash nearby, Born agrees to guide them through the jungle, a choice that sets the outsiders against his world.
