Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 adventure novel set in Scotland in 1751. Young David Balfour is cheated by his miserly uncle and kidnapped onto a ship bound for the Carolinas. Shipwrecked, he joins the Jacobite Alan Breck Stewart, and the two flee across the Highlands after being implicated in the Appin murder.
