Jeeves in the Offing
Categories: Humor & Entertainment, Literature & Fiction
With Jeeves off on his annual holiday, Bertie Wooster travels alone to his Aunt Dahlia's house at the start of Jeeves in the Offing (1960; US title How Right You Are, Jeeves). Waiting there are the reckless Bobbie Wickham, Bertie's school friend Kipper Herring, and their old headmaster Aubrey Upjohn, whom Kipper has insulted in print. The psychiatrist Roderick Glossop is also on the premises, and Bertie soon needs Jeeves back.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
