Indiscretions of Archie
Categories: Humor & Entertainment, Literature & Fiction
Archie Moffam, an amiable, penniless young Englishman, has married Lucille, the daughter of Daniel Brewster, a gruff New York hotel owner who cannot stand him. Indiscretions of Archie (1921) strings his misadventures into a single comic book. Archie's efforts to win over his father-in-law and to earn a living, usually through schemes that go wrong, drive the episodes, set in New York hotels, theaters and country houses just after World War I.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
