Imagined London
Categories: Literature & Fiction, Travel
Anna Quindlen's 2004 book is a tour of London through the eyes of a lifelong reader who knew the city from novels long before she ever visited. She walks the streets, squares and landmarks she first met in the work of Dickens, Austen, Trollope, Woolf and many others, comparing the London of fiction with the real modern city. The result is part travel book, part memoir and part celebration of reading.
