Icerigger
Last updated November 1, 2026
Traveling salesman Ethan Frome Fortune gets swept into a botched kidnapping and crash-lands on Tran-ky-ky, a frozen world. With a few other stranded humans, he falls in with the catlike Tran, who sail across the planet's ice on wind-driven ships. To reach the human outpost, the castaways help the Tran build a giant ice ship of their own and set out across the frozen seas. Alan Dean Foster's 1974 novel opens the Icerigger trilogy.
