I Will Not Ever Never Eat a Tomato (2000) is the picture book that introduced Lauren Child's brother and sister Charlie and Lola. Charlie is asked to give his fussy little sister her dinner, but Lola will not eat carrots, peas, potatoes, fish fingers and above all tomatoes. So Charlie plays a trick, renaming each food as something magical: carrots become orange twiglets from Jupiter and mashed potato becomes cloud fluff from the pointiest peak of Mount Fuji.
