How We Decide

How We Decide is a 2009 book by science writer Jonah Lehrer about the neuroscience of decision-making. He draws on research into the brain to explain how people choose, from everyday purchases to split-second decisions by pilots, athletes and poker players. Lehrer argues that good decisions depend on balancing emotion and reason, and that each has strengths and weaknesses in different situations. The publisher later took the book off the market after problems were found with some of its quotations.
