For Love of Mother-Not
Last updated October 31, 2026
Young Philip Lynx is bought at a slave auction on rainy Moth by Mother Mastiff, a tough old trader who raises him in the city of Drallar. Years later she vanishes, and Flinx goes looking for her. Her kidnappers are linked to the Meliorare Society, eugenicists who may explain his empathic gift. Along the way he meets the minidrag Pip. Written as a prequel, it comes first in the chronology of Alan Dean Foster's Pip and Flinx books.
