Chip Kidd: Book One
By Chip Kidd
Categories: Arts & Photography
Chip Kidd, who joined the publisher Alfred A. Knopf as a designer in 1986, gathers two decades of his covers in this 2005 monograph, subtitled Work: 1986–2006. Alongside the finished designs are hundreds of developmental sketches and early concepts. Kidd annotates the work himself, joined by comments from many of the authors whose books he dressed. The volume also covers his comics and graphic-novel projects, including Batman and Superman work for DC Comics and his exploration of Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts art.
