Blue Iris

By Mary Oliver

Categories: Literature & Fiction

Blue Iris gathers Mary Oliver's poems and short essays about flowers and trees: lilies, sunflowers, peonies, goldenrod and the many other plants she met on her daily walks. In each piece she practices the close looking that runs through all her work, treating attention as a form of devotion and finding in small, ordinary things a source of wonder. The book is illustrated with images of flowers.
