Two old school friends, both short of cash, share the stage in Big Money (1931). Lord Biskerton, known as Biscuit, is a penniless peer dodging his creditors, and Berry Conway works as secretary to an irascible American millionaire. Berry owns shares in a supposedly worthless copper mine, and the plot turns on rival schemes to get hold of them, along with the romances both friends pursue in London and suburban Valley Fields.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
