BASIC Computer Games

Categories: Computers & Technology

BASIC Computer Games, compiled by David H. Ahl, collects type-in games written in the BASIC programming language, some of them written or adapted by Ahl himself. Among the best known are Hamurabi and Super Star Trek. The collection grew out of games Ahl gathered while editing a Digital Equipment Corporation newsletter, many contributed by high school students, and the games were adapted to Microsoft BASIC for early microcomputers. It became the first computer book to sell a million copies.
