Art Is Work
Categories: Arts & Photography
Published in 2000, Art Is Work surveys roughly a quarter century of projects by the graphic designer Milton Glaser. Hundreds of color reproductions cover newspapers and magazines, posters, album covers, book jackets, toys and textiles, plus restaurant and supermarket interiors. Glaser's accompanying text traces how individual projects developed, discusses his influences and recurring themes, and sets out the working methods and basic design principles behind his art.

- Seth Godin: “Milton Glaser does the work. Loudly and with pride and generosity, he has long led the way in thinking about the work and why it matters. This is mostly a portfolio, but the writing here will make you think.”
