A Few Quick Ones
Categories: Humor & Entertainment, Literature & Fiction
Ten stories make up A Few Quick Ones (1959), and nearly all of Wodehouse's recurring storytellers get a turn. Bertie and Jeeves appear in Jeeves Makes an Omelette, and Mr. Mulliner recounts Big Business. Ukridge, the golfers of the Oldest Member and the Drones Club all return as well, the last in stories such as Oofy, Freddie and the Beef Trust, in which two Drones members go into business.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
