Why I Stand is NBA forward Jonathan Isaac's 2022 memoir, written with A. J. Gregory and published by DW Books. On July 31, 2020, at the restart of the NBA season in Florida, Isaac stood for the national anthem while the players around him knelt in support of Black Lives Matter. The book tells the story behind that moment, from his childhood in the Bronx and high school years in Florida to Florida State and the 2017 draft, and credits his Christian faith with turning fear and insecurity into confidence.
