We Are Called to Be a Movement
Categories: Politics & Social Sciences, Religion & Spirituality
This short book presents a single sermon by the Reverend William Barber, co-chair of a national anti-poverty campaign, a version of which he first delivered at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, in June 2018. Barber calls on readers to renounce the politics of rejection, division and greed and to work for the common good. Drawing on Scripture and on accounts of people pushed to society's margins, he argues that those who have been rejected should help lead a moral revival of American democracy.
