Walk Through Walls: A Memoir
Categories: Arts & Photography, Biographies & Memoirs
Marina Abramović's 2016 memoir, written with James Kaplan, follows her from a strict, unhappy childhood in Belgrade under Tito's Yugoslavia to international fame as a performance artist who tests the limits of body and mind. She describes early works that put her own safety at risk, her twelve-year artistic and romantic partnership with Ulay, their walk from opposite ends of the Great Wall of China in 1988, and her three-month performance The Artist Is Present at MoMA in 2010.
