In the second Stephanie Plum novel, the Trenton bounty hunter goes after Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the burg who is fresh out of the army, suspiciously wealthy and has just shot his best friend before skipping bail. The trail leads through back alleys and funeral parlors, where Grandma Mazur, a devoted wake-goer, provides cover until she starts packing a pistol of her own. Joe Morelli joins the case because Kenny is his cousin, and embalmed body parts begin arriving on Stephanie's doorstep.
