Travels with My Aunt
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Graham Greene's comic novel follows Henry Pulling, a retired bank manager who meets his eccentric aunt Augusta at his mother's funeral. Augusta draws Henry out of his quiet suburban life into a series of adventures, from Brighton and Paris to Istanbul and South America, involving smugglers, con men and her old lovers. As Henry learns about her colorful past, he discovers a taste for adventure himself. Published in 1969, the novel is one of Greene's lighter works.
