Time for the Stars (1956) is a Robert A. Heinlein novel for young readers. Twins Tom and Pat Bartlett can communicate by telepathy, instantly and over any distance, so they are recruited by a foundation that is sending ships to find habitable planets. Tom goes on the starship while Pat stays on Earth, and because of relativity, Tom ages far more slowly than his brother.
