Throwing Heat: The Autobiography of Nolan Ryan
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Nolan Ryan tells the story of his life in baseball, from growing up in small-town Texas to becoming one of the most feared pitchers in the game. He was still pitching when the book appeared in 1988. Ryan describes his years with the Mets, Angels and Astros, his record-breaking strikeouts and no-hitters, and the training that kept him throwing hard into his forties. Written with Harvey Frommer, the book also covers his family, ranching and life away from the mound.
