They All Saw a Cat
Categories: Children's Books
They All Saw a Cat (2016) by Brendan Wenzel is a picture book about how perspective shapes what we see. A cat walks through the world and is seen by a child, a dog, a fox, a fish, a mouse, a bee, a bird, a flea, a snake, a skunk, a worm and a bat. Each sees the cat differently, from a cuddly pet to a fearsome hunter, and Wenzel shows each view in a different style of art. The rhythmic, repeating text is meant for reading aloud.

- Meghan Markle: “Brendan Wenzel's They All Saw a Cat shows a cat from the perspective of a bee, a dog, and everything in between. [...] It's the best reminder that even as adults, we can all be looking at (or talking about) the exact same thing, but we'll all see it differently. I've gifted this book to kids and adults. It's amazing!”
