The Way to Wealth
By Benjamin Franklin
Categories: Business & Money
The Way to Wealth is Benjamin Franklin's short essay on thrift and hard work, first published in 1758 as the preface to Poor Richard's Almanack. In it, an old man named Father Abraham addresses a crowd at an auction, stringing together proverbs from years of Franklin's almanacs. His advice on industry, frugality, prudence and avoiding debt includes sayings such as "There are no gains without pains." This small edition presents the complete text.
