The Voyage of the Beagle

By Charles Darwin

Categories: Science & Math

Charles Darwin's account of his five-year voyage around the world aboard HMS Beagle, from 1831 to 1836, records the geology, plants, animals and peoples he encountered on the way. He describes the landscapes and wildlife of South America, from the pampas to Tierra del Fuego and the Andes, as well as his visit to the Galápagos Islands and stops across the Pacific. Observations from the voyage later fed into his theory of evolution.
