The Ultimate Gift is a 2001 novel by Jim Stovall about Jason Stevens, the spoiled grandnephew of a Texas oil billionaire, Red Stevens, who must complete a series of tasks to claim his inheritance. Through videotaped messages left by Red, Jason is set twelve monthly challenges about work, money, friendship, learning, gratitude and other values, each of which he must finish before he can receive the 'ultimate gift'. The novel was adapted as a feature film released in 2007.
