The Truth About Employee Engagement
Categories: Business & Money
The Truth About Employee Engagement is a business fable by Patrick Lencioni, originally published in 2007 as The Three Signs of a Miserable Job, about why people come to dislike their work. The story follows a retired executive who takes a job at a pizzeria and tests his theory of job misery there. Lencioni then explains the three causes he identifies, anonymity, irrelevance and immeasurement, and offers managers practical ways to address each one.
