The Trumpet of Conscience
Categories: History, Politics & Social Sciences
This short book collects the five Massey Lectures that Martin Luther King Jr. gave on Canadian radio in late 1967, a few months before his death. In them he speaks about his opposition to the Vietnam War, about poverty and the planned Poor People's Campaign, about young people and civil disobedience, and about nonviolence as a way for the world to survive. The final lecture is his Christmas Eve sermon on peace.
