The Testaments (2019) by Margaret Atwood is a novel and the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale (1985). Set more than fifteen years after the earlier book, it is told by three women: Aunt Lydia, one of the founders of Gilead's regime; Agnes, a girl raised inside Gilead; and Daisy, a young woman growing up in Canada. Their accounts circle the workings of Gilead and the forces gathering against it.
