The Secret of Our Success: How Culture Is Driving Human Evolution, Domesticating Our Species, and Making Us Smarter
Categories: Science & Math
Harvard evolutionary biologist Joseph Henrich argues that humans dominate the planet not because of individual intelligence but because of our collective culture. He shows how cultural knowledge, passed down and improved across generations, has shaped our bodies and minds through gene-culture coevolution. Using examples from hunter-gatherer survival to cooking and language, Henrich explains how culture made us smarter and more cooperative as a species.
