The Parent's Tao Te Ching: Ancient Advice for Modern Parents
Categories: Parenting & Relationships, Religion & Spirituality
The Parent's Tao Te Ching is William Martin's version of Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching, rewritten as advice for parents. Each of its eighty-one short poems takes a theme from the original text, such as simplicity, patience, letting go and the strength of gentleness, and applies it to raising children. Martin encourages parents to worry less about control and achievement, to slow down and to trust their children's own natures, in brief reflections that can be read one at a time.
