Categories: Literature & Fiction
The Mailman (1991) by Bentley Little is a horror novel set in the small town of Willis, Arizona. After the town's longtime mail carrier dies, a pale stranger named John Smith takes over the route, and at first he delivers only welcome letters. Soon bills vanish, utilities are cut off by forged notices, and residents receive hostile letters and mail from the dead. Teacher Doug Albin is among the first to suspect Smith as the town turns on itself.

- Stephen King: “When it comes to balls-to-the-wall horror, nobody is does it like Bentley Little. He's at his best writing horror featuring bureaucratic organizations. Try THE BANK or THE MAILMAN, or my favorite: DMV. A horror story in itself, as anyone who's waited there can attest. Cemetery Dance, publishers”
