The Kybalion: Hermetic Philosophy
Categories: Religion & Spirituality
The Kybalion (1908) presents itself as a digest of ancient Hermetic teaching and sets out seven principles, from Mentalism and Correspondence to Rhythm and Gender, starting from the claim that "The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental." Published in Chicago under the pseudonym Three Initiates, it is widely attributed to the writer and publisher William Walker Atkinson. Its lessons on "mental transmutation," the art of changing one's mental states, made it a durable favorite among readers of occult and self-help books.

- Aubrey Marcus: “And then I read the Kybalion and the first principle is 'all is mind, the universe is mental,' and I was like... I could have just read that a little bit earlier and I could have changed the title of my book... so now I have a vastly different understanding of the mind.”
