The Garden of Last Days is a 2008 novel by Andre Dubus III, author of House of Sand and Fog, an Oprah's Book Club pick and finalist for the National Book Award. It is set in Florida in 2001. April, a single mother, works as a stripper at a club in Sarasota and brings her young daughter to work one night. Among the club's customers is Bassam, a Saudi man preparing to take part in the September 11 attacks, and an angry, separated husband named AJ. Their stories collide over a few days.
