The Future of Life
Categories: Science & Math
The Future of Life is a 2002 book by the Harvard biologist Edward O. Wilson, the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and pioneer of sociobiology and biodiversity studies, published by Alfred A. Knopf and later in paperback by Vintage. Wilson surveys the state of life on Earth, describing how human population growth, habitat destruction and invasive species are driving a mass extinction, and argues that it is still possible to save most of the planet's species through science, conservation, economic reform and a new environmental ethic.
