The Dry is Jane Harper's crime novel set in a drought-stricken Australian farming town. Federal agent Aaron Falk returns to his hometown of Kiewarra for the funeral of his childhood friend Luke, who appears to have killed his wife and son and then himself. Falk stays to look into the case with the local police sergeant. His investigation reopens old wounds over the death of a teenage girl twenty years earlier, for which Falk was once suspected.
