The Diversity Delusion
Categories: Politics & Social Sciences
The Diversity Delusion (2018) is Manhattan Institute fellow Heather Mac Donald's critique of identity politics in American higher education. She argues that campus diversity bureaucracies, microaggression and implicit-bias training, and sexual-assault rules with weak due process have turned universities toward grievance and away from learning. Mac Donald disputes claims of a campus rape epidemic and makes the case for the Western canon and humanistic study, which she sees displaced by curricula built around race and gender.
