The Celestial Worlds Discover'd (1698) is Christiaan Huygens's posthumous treatise, known in Latin as Cosmotheoros, on possible life beyond Earth. Using telescope evidence of light and dark patches on planets, Huygens conjectures about water, plants and inhabitants elsewhere in the solar system, including Jupiter and Mars. The Routledge reissue keeps the early modern English text for readers of the history of science.
