The Adventures of Pinocchio
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Carlo Collodi's classic tells the story of Pinocchio, a wooden puppet carved by the poor woodcarver Geppetto, who longs to become a real boy. Pinocchio is disobedient and easily led astray. He skips school, lies, falls in with crooks and suffers many misfortunes before he learns to be honest and kind. First published in Italy as a serial in the early 1880s, the story is darker and stranger than its later film versions.
